ABOVE AND BEYOND - COMMUNITY IMPACT

What most parents point out as positive in my work is cooperation with them, which is realized in different ways (by sending short comments on what the student has done well today, by posting content on my blog, by telephone conversations, by individual and joint parent meetings ... ). Parents of my students even present suggestions for improving some of my work segments, and also accept the suggestions I refer to them regarding access to the child.
I realize educational and creative workshops with the parents.
I occasionally involve parents in the learning process: as assistants in realization, in the form of providing technical support or as a lecturer on a particular topic. When it's  sports week, we organize interesting matches in which parents and students compete, I regularly involve them in the activities of Children's Week, there role was to evaluate(they chose the most beautiful portfolio, the best gymnasts ...). In cooperation with parents and students, I organized the New Year's celebration in the premises of our school for all interested locals, celebration of the International Day of the Elderly, the same for all interested local elders, and informed the public through the local television, mathematical evening with parents and colleague-then student and sister of one of the students, a celebration for all interested ladies on the occasion of Women's Day ...
I also collect and publish on my blog educational texts for parents.
I occasionally organize workshops and mutual visits with my colleagues. I present the projects I have with students to students of the neighboring classes and their teachers. My department was hosted several times on the occasion of Children's Day for students and colleagues from neighboring rural departments. On my initiative, eco masquerade was also realized in some neighboring settlements.
I have been a mentor several times to the students of the Faculty of Pedagogical Sciences from Jagodina and what delighted them all is the unusual approach to simultaneous work with the 4th grade, as well as the abundance of papers that are made with a small number of pupils.
I realized cooperation with the Health Center: their employees held lectures on healthy food, and I have created its posters with students about healthy lifestyles, which were given as a gift to pediatric department in Zagubica. They were displayed in their waiting room. In the past years we also donated handmade dolls to pediatricians.
I also influence my students through various workshops. By my personal example I show them that they should aprouch their mistakes constructively and accept them as a kind of a gift. I use all the inaccurate student responses for learning. In the class, we are constructively interacting with the differences of any kind, and one of the slogans of our class is: THE DIFFERENCES ARE OUR TREASURE. Failure in the competitions (and we participated in numerous) I use as an incentive for further work and I am trying to develop a positive attitude in students, both towards success and failure. There is almost no teaching time on which I do not potentiate peer learning. I organize workshops on learning methods, and I follow their work and progress to the end of elementary schooling.
